Liang Qichao and He Zhen developed their polities on China while they were away from the country. This is because when they were in a foreign country, they did not need to get used to those polities in China and got opportunities to see those problems from different points of view. When they were abroad, they thought about the problems deeply and clearly like bystanders. At that time, people could not get information easily. In this way, when they got into a new environment and had a chance to compare different cultures and different ideas, they could see where the problems were.
Before I started to study abroad, I have already got used to the ideas and habits in my country and may never think through them. When I get a chance to study in the United States, people from different countries with different cultures and beliefs express their opinions, which might be totally different from mine. I start to rethink the idea I get used to and compare the difference to reform my new ideas about something. Moreover, when I am away from the country, I could hear different opinions about my own country and learn more about my own country.
I think the diverged nationalism may due to the gender difference. Liang Qichao may think about something from a perspective as male. He might protect the interest relative to his own gender. Even though they were reading many same texts, they could still understand the texts from their own standpoints. And the different gender and ideas received during their young age may cause them to think differently.
