At the time, women were hard-working and were responsible for all the duties, but the men were lazy and did not contribute to the economy. The “wasteland” was impossible for them to cultivate and have enough resources to raise their children. That kind of condition was difficult for them to live and raise their children. Besides, lots of women lost their lives in the Battle of Okinawa to protect their rights and land. The United States took their land as military bases and expelled them from their land. The women in the same situation formed a community to help out each other, and the trauma in the past make them try their best to get the land back. However, due to their gender and the force, they faced a huge difficulty.
